I purchased a gMax 2 because I had been following gCreate for some time and was in the market for a workhorse large 3D printer. I liked their build volume for their price point plus they are made in the US. Since they’ve been around for awhile and have a good reputation, my expectations for their latest printer were high. They did not disappoint.
Easy to set up out of the box and easy to use, I’ve basically been running this thing non-stop. The print quality on the gMax 2 is better than any of my other FDM printers and it’s consistent. The acrylic bed is good for printing PLA and TPU but since I mostly print with PETG and some CF-PETG I’ve been using the heated bed a lot. I like that the heated bed is controlled through the printer.
In a short time I’ve already made my money back on this machine and I’m planning to add at least two more gMax 2’s very soon.
I was an early gMax 2 pre-sale customer. The printer took a beating during shipping but the gCreate team was great. They got me everything I needed fast and Josh from tech support was really helpful. Now I’m up and running and the printer is working great.
Though I was looking for box-design printer with overhead gantry I kept returning to the gMax 2. The straight-forward, essentialist design ships flat and sets up fast. The printer is assembled in NY and questions from purchase to setup were articulately answered with little delay. Setup and instructions were as friendly as I’ve experienced in the prosumer/workhorse 3D printing sector. The machine appears to be very well designed for plug-and-play upgrades.
Printing on this is a dream! I love the huge build volume and the quality of prints is great, especially with the E3D hot end and BLtouch
My go-to 3D printer. Fantastic machine. Thank you gCreate!
I teach in a public high school. 3D printers at this point are a necessity in education. I’ve have purchased some small, less expensive printers that really all lacked substance. I bought the Gmax 2. After using it for two weeks, I started writing a grant to get another one. The build capacity is astounding. (18”x18”x24”)
At this point, I’m just trying to find something that it can’t do. It’s all of the things you would want your main printer to be. It’s durable and well built. The ease of use and setup is phenomenal. The print quality is great, the control you have over the print and process is fantastic. From a 25 year veteran design teacher this ranks in the top five purchases I’ve ever made. You need this printer!
When I was looking for a large format printer I narrowed to 2 printers. The Raise3D PRO2 Plus or the gMax 2. The gMax 2 was not out yet so I went with the PRO2. Right of the box The PRO2 gave me problems to the point where they exchanged mine with a new printer. Even with the new one I’ve had problems. At that time I decided to pre-order a gMax 2. When it arrived it was easy to assemble and has Performed excellent from day one. Now the gMax 2 Is my go to printer and the PRO2 Is hardly used.
