Here’s a new 3D photo project: TOPOGRAFICS. It enables you to convert 2D photographs into 3D images. Dave White is the owner of Studio DTW and he uses the technique of 3D printing to create beautiful 3D printed images.
The images are converted from original photographs and they need back-lighting to reveal the original photograph again. Dave notes: “with these prints, not only are you viewing your favorite memories, but you can feel the texture, and see it come to life over and over.”
Below you can check out an example of TOPOGRAFICS. The first image is the 3D printed version of the photo. The second image shows the same version of the photo, but with the addition of back-light.
As you can probably imagine, Daves project can be useful for wedding photographers. They could think about adding it to their service. “But they will be available to anyone who wants a completely immersive experience when viewing their favorite images or reliving a cherished moment,” says Dave. “As 3D printing continues to become more and more prevalent, I expect the market for these prints to expand right along with it.”
