Accufacture, Meltio, and FANUC America has unveiled the Alchemist 1, an all-in-one additive manufacturing robotic workcell.
Leveraging Meltio’s Wire-Laser Metal Deposition (W-LMD) technology, Alchemist 1 provides cost-effective production of large, fully dense metal parts for a wide range of industries. Its features, including a deposition rate of up to 1 kg an hour and compatibility with inexpensive welding wire feedstock, promise both superior performance and affordability.
The pre-integrated Alchemist 1 Cell seamlessly combines Meltio’s LW-DED head with a state-of-the-art FANUC six-axis robot and two-axis positioner, all within a sleek, laser-safe enclosure. This integration ensures efficient operation and rapid deployment, enhancing the manufacturing process.
Moreover, the system comes complete with a complimentary Meltio Space robotic slicer license, offering customers flexibility in slicer technologies. This allows users to optimize their workflow according to their specific needs and preferences.
“Our Alchemist 1 Cell marks the culmination of our extensive relationship with Meltio and FANUC, aimed at expanding the horizons of large format metal 3D printing,” said Xavier Fajardo, CEO of Accufacture.
“By offering a standardized, preconfigured solution, we aim to streamline the adoption process for our customers, thereby accelerating innovation across diverse industries.”
With its innovative features and seamless integration, Alchemist 1 is poised to enhance metal additive manufacturing across various sectors, including automotive, aerospace, mining, and oil and gas. Its introduction marks a significant advancement in the field, promising to meet the growing demand for cost-effective and high-quality metal parts production.
