Bentley Motors has revealed its EXP 15 concept vehicle at the opening of its new design studio in Crewe. The five-meter concept model draws inspiration from the 1930 Bentley Speed Six Gurney Nutting Sportsman coupe while incorporating modern design elements including 3D-printed titanium finishes. The concept is not intended for production but provides design direction for future Bentley vehicles, including the brand’s first fully electric car.
The EXP 15 features an unusual three-seat, three-door configuration with a passenger seat that can rotate 45 degrees and move between different positions. The interior combines traditional materials with modern manufacturing techniques, including 100 percent wool textile by Fox Brothers alongside 3D-printed titanium components.
The concept showcases five exterior design principles that will influence future Bentley production cars, including “Upright Elegance” and “Iconic Grille.” The vehicle features active aerodynamic elements, LED lighting interpretations of Bentley’s diamond pattern, and a liquid metal satin paint finish called Pallas Gold. The paint uses ultra-thin aluminum pigment that allows radar signals to transmit through it without signal quality reduction.
The interior design incorporates virtual reality software to demonstrate various configurations and includes what designers call “Magical Fusion” – a combination of physical and digital elements. Robin Page, Bentley Director of Design, said: “We think people are going to get fed up with a fully digital experience and are pining for physical mechanical elements too. By combining the two, you can get the best of both worlds.” The dashboard can switch between digital interface mode and reveal a wood veneer surface underneath glass panels.
The EXP 15 is designed as a fully electric, all-wheel drive vehicle with long range capabilities, though specific technical specifications have not been disclosed. The concept represents Bentley’s exploration of the changing sedan market segment and serves as a platform for testing customer preferences. The vehicle is expected to influence design elements in future Bentley models, though it is not a preview of the company’s 2026 all-electric production vehicle.
