HP and Materialise have announced that they’ll be updating the user experience and interaction of their respective products in an effort to enable more industrial scale 3D printing. Materialise’s file preparation software will be integrated with HP’S Multi Jet Fusion technology and HP’s printers will be certified as compatible with the Materialise Mimics inPrint software that’s used for healthcare applications.
The two companies will also work together to integrate the latest version of the Materialise Build Processor into the full line of HP’s HD 3D printing portfolio. The Build Processor connects the Materialise Magics 3D Print Suite with HP MJF 3D printers, providing users with advanced data preparation features and production monitoring capabilities.
Materialise Mimics
By certifying HP’s 3D printers to be compatible with the Materialise Mimics and Mimics inPrint software, Materialise will be able to offer full-color anatomical models to healthcare professionals around the world for diagnostic, educational, and surgical planning purposes. The software can currently process orthopedic, cardiac, and cranio maxillofacial models complete with vascular structures, and more models will be added over time.
HP, Materialise, and their customers will benefit from these improvements as the reach of both companies is vast. Healthcare providers that can’t afford advanced in-house 3D printers will gain access to the highest-quality 3D models available, allowing them to better serve their patients.
