Lazer Sport’s KinetiCore Helmet Tech Developed with 3D Printing

February 29, 2024

Lazer Sport NV, a prominent cycling helmet manufacturer, has joined forces with Siemens Digital Industries Software to unveil KinetiCore, a cutting-edge rotational impact protection system for cycling helmets.

By harnessing the power of Siemens Xcelerator, Lazer Sport has achieved remarkable strides in safety enhancement, design innovation, and sustainability objectives. Through the utilization of Siemens NX and Simcenter 3D software, Lazer Sport has navigated intricate design complexities, conducts thorough digital simulations, and seamlessly integrated 3D printing for rapid prototyping.

The system, a decade in development, offers cyclists advanced protection with EPS foam crumple zones, lighter weight, improved cooling, and reduced plastic, aligning with environmental goals.

“At Lazer Sport, we have led bicycle helmet innovation since 1919. From simple leather caps on Belgian roads to our sleek, safe, and globally available helmets today. We are blending passion and performance for the joy of riding,” said Bastiaan Van Asch, Product Engineering, Lazer Sport NV.

“Our drive for innovation redefines helmet protection with KinetiCore technology. With KinetiCore already implemented in 20 models by the end of 2024, these helmets offer enhanced safety and design for all cyclists. Our focus is on top performance, eco-friendly materials, and self-sufficient production.”

This strategic partnership between Lazer Sport and Siemens demonstrates the company’s commitment to advancing helmet technology, prioritizing cyclist safety, and minimizing environmental impact.

With KinetiCore technology already implemented in a diverse range of helmet models, Lazer Sport sets a new benchmark in performance, comfort, and sustainability within the cycling industry.
