QIDI Launches Q2 3D Printer for Home Users with Industrial-Grade Features

August 20, 2025

QIDI Tech has introduced the QIDI Q2, a compact, beginner-friendly desktop 3D printer engineered to bring professional-grade capabilities into the home. Designed as the new entry-level flagship, the Q2 delivers hardware enhancements, multi-color and multi-material support, and integrated safety systems—all at a competitive $499 price point.

Early subscribers can access limited-time discounts via QIDI’s official store.

QIDI Launches Q2 3D Printer for Home Users with Industrial-Grade Features

Precision Starts with Smart Leveling and Motion Control

At the heart of the QIDI Q2 is its next-generation leveling system, which uses a “nozzle-as-sensor” mechanism. Mounted directly above the nozzle, the sensor eliminates calibration offsets caused by surface variations or external vibration, delivering accurate first-layer performance every time.

The Q2 builds on QIDI’s proven engineering platform with a 1.5GT high-density timing belt, precision linear rails, an all-metal toolhead, and a reinforced CoreXY frame. Together, these components offer stability, smooth motion, and reduced maintenance—key for long-term reliability.

Multi-Material Ready with Support for PPS-CF and More

Fully compatible with the QIDI BOX—an automatic filament switching system that holds up to four spools—the QIDI Q2 enables 16-color printing and seamless multi-material workflows. The BOX includes a heated, 65°C drying chamber to ensure filament quality, making it suitable for advanced materials like carbon fiber and glass-filled filaments.

The extruder features a dual-gear, stepper motor-driven system with a 370°C hotend and ceramic throat for clog-free operation. QIDI’s thermal management upgrades, including optimized airflow and inter-layer adhesion enhancements, allow reliable printing of engineering materials such as ABS, PC, and even PPS-CF—an advanced high-temperature composite.

Compact Size, Larger Build Volume

Compared to its predecessor, the Q1 Pro, the QIDI Q2 offers a 30% increase in build volume while reducing its footprint by 20%. This space-efficient design makes it ideal for home studios, classrooms, or offices.

To ensure health and safety in indoor environments, the printer includes a triple-filtration system: G3 pre-filter, H12 HEPA filter (99.5% particulate removal), and an activated carbon layer to neutralize VOCs and odors. A rear exhaust with upgradeable ducting adds flexibility for air management.

Certified by MET Laboratories and holding IECEE CB recognition, the QIDI Q2 complies with safety standards in the U.S., Canada, and over 50 international markets.

Ecosystem Expansion and Smart Features

The QIDI Q2 is equipped with an advanced AP control board, enabling fast system response and reliable performance. Users can expect future support for a smart AI camera with remote monitoring, failure detection, and real-time alerts.

QIDI is also preparing to launch a new model repository and mobile app to streamline the user experience with remote slicing, task submission, and live print status updates—bringing intelligent control to the home printing workflow.

Accessible Innovation for First-Time Makers

With industrial-grade features like CoreXY mechanics, multi-color support, advanced filtration, and high-temperature material compatibility, the QIDI Q2 positions itself as one of the most capable entry-level printers in its class. It’s a robust, user-focused solution for anyone starting out in desktop 3D printing.
