Sandvik Unveils New Website Connecting Physical and Digital for Future of Manufacturing

July 20, 2023

Additive manufacturing and machining specialists Sandvik, has recently launched a new manufacturing solutions website that highlights its connected digital and physical manufacturing offerings. The website aims to showcase Sandvik’s comprehensive approach to the future of manufacturing, bridging the gap between physical processes and intelligent software solutions.

The key highlight of the website is the integration of Dimensional Control Systems (DCS), which plays a crucial role in design optimization, data management, quality control, and problem-solving.

The combination of Sandvik’s digital manufacturing solutions with DCS’s software solutions empowers manufacturers to achieve greater efficiency and quality throughout the entire product lifecycle – all essential for producing metal AM parts in safety-critical industries.

The website emphasizes that Sandvik’s approach is not just about providing software and machines; it offers a complete end-to-end solution, including design and process planning, tool management, machining and additive manufacturing, and metrology software and devices. By adopting an open ecosystem, Sandvik enables manufacturers to seamlessly integrate these solutions into their existing workflows, eliminating the need for a complete infrastructure overhaul.

“Sandvik is strategically putting forth an effort to build a comprehensive metrology and manufacturing solution. This is more than a vision, this is our approach to the future of manufacturing – based on an interconnected ecosystem of quality software and metrology tools,” said Michael Ulicny, DCS CEO.

“Our associate companies under Sandvik have provided a platform for cooperation and technology sharing that would have previously been impossible. Together, these changes have opened new doors for us that will also provide benefits to our customers.”

Sandvik envisions a future of efficient and sustainable manufacturing through automated and connected solutions. With a solid foundation as a market leader in metal-cutting tools and metal 3D printing solutions, Sandvik’s new website showcases the first steps in this vision, integrating excellent brands and strong products already part of the company’s portfolio.

DCS’s model-based definition approach gives manufacturers the tools to validate and optimize their CAD and GD&T, ensuring consistent quality downstream. By standardizing measurement plans and providing manufacturing feedback and data, DCS’s software becomes the vital link between engineering and production, enabling timely identification and resolution of non-conformance issues.

The site is now up and running, and you can take a peek over at this link.
