UltiMaker has announced the release of the S6 3D printer, designed specifically for engineers, manufacturing teams, and maintenance crews. The new printer focuses on delivering reliable parts for functional prototyping, production, and on-demand repairs. It operates at print speeds of up to 500 mm/s with 50,000 mm/s² acceleration through the UltiMaker Cheetah motion planner, which the company states can deliver up to four times faster print times than previous models.
The S6 is fully backward compatible with the UltiMaker S5, allowing existing users to integrate the new printer with their current setup. Material stations, air managers, print cores, and materials are interchangeable across the entire S series. The printer comes with dual extrusion capabilities and offers two build plate options: a flexible plate for versatility and a glass plate for applications requiring enhanced hygiene.
“The S6 delivers the speed and reliability we need, with the reassurance of a well-integrated, proven ecosystem,” said Sophie Grebert, Owner of France-based DP3D. Erik Schwartz, Owner/Driver of U.S.-based Schwartz Off Road Motorsportz, added, “The S6’s faster print speeds mean we can move faster and more agilely. Downtime is detrimental to our fast-paced design process.”
The printer integrates with UltiMaker’s software ecosystem, including UltiMaker Cura and Digital Factory. Users can access Cura Cloud through Digital Factory to slice, manage, and print remotely. The S6 supports over 300 printing materials, according to the company.
Manufactured at UltiMaker’s facilities in the Netherlands, the S6 is the first UltiMaker printer to come with an extended 24-month warranty. The manufacturing facilities hold ISO 9001 certification for Quality Management and ISO 14001 for Environmental Management. More information about the S6 is available on the UltiMaker website.
