3D Printing Boosts Village Economy in China’s Xizang

December 19, 2023

A 3D printing construction company in Lhasa, the capital of southwest China’s Xizang Autonomous Region, has been boosting the local economy with its 3D printed wares. Established in June 2023, Yingcai Construction Technology, not only provides employment opportunities to the local populace but also introduces innovative recycling methods, demonstrating both economic and ecological advantages.

The company’s 3D printing capabilities enable efficient construction processes, yielding high-quality products like flower pots and isolation strips. Its success is reflected in the positive market response and the potential for future expansion. Employees, benefiting from higher salaries and skill development, express satisfaction with their work-life balance and growth prospects.

With over 60 jobs created and an average salary of 8,000 yuan per month, Yingcai Construction Technology stands as a model for integrating modern technology into rural economies. The company’s impact extends beyond employment, as it contributes to local community development through dividends to village residents.

“Locals had relatively limited sources of income in the past. The 3D printing construction company has created many employment opportunities,” said subdistrict official Zhang Yonghai.

“The company has injected high-tech elements into the development of the collective village economy. The benefits of the 3D printing construction enterprise are significant, aligning with future development trends and making a substantial contribution to rural revitalization efforts.”

As the year concludes, Yingcai Construction Technology’s influence continues to grow, receiving invitations to expand its operations to other cities. This expansion indicates a broader trend of integrating high-tech solutions into rural economic development, so other villages could potentially benefit from 3D printing as Tsal Village has already done.
