3DPrinterOS announced a partnership with Microsoft. The idea is to deliver a joint service for those using Azure (Microsoft’s global cloud application system) and needing to handle groups of 3D printers securely. 3DPrinterOS, a cloud 3D printer management, and infrastructure firm has now been around for five years. From its beginning, the business was setup to provide a cloud-based support for desktop 3D printers.
The idea is to utilize Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing service to create a cloud system more powerful and scalable. “We’re extremely excited to collaborate with Microsoft Azure to serve our Enterprise Clients with its exceptionally protected, hyper-scale international cloud… This was a struggle to get the ideal firm who had the cloud infrastructure, compliance, safety, and reliability around the world including nations like China and Europe,” said 3DPrinterOS CEO John Dogru.
What Does This New Bundle Mean?
Its cloud-based service provides a method of managing fleets of 3D printers. For example, it can manage gcode, analytics, user- and document management, and printer queues in a single interface. In recent times, the company has been more concentrated on the education and institutional market.
“The Cloud is transforming entire industries and creating new opportunities for even the most innovative new companies… The market-leading scale and rate of Microsoft Azure helps spur international growth opportunities for businesses like 3DPrinterOS who are using cloud computing and IoT linked devices in an entirely new model of decentralized manufacturing,” said Senior Director of Microsoft Azure, Nicole Herskowitz.
The new package will include: a pre-approved IT solution which makes it possible to manage users and 3D printers. They’ll be using the Azure cloud’ SO 27001, HIPAA, FedRAMP, SOC 1 and SOC compliance. Hopefully for 3DPrinterOS with this change they ought to promote new customers and more application development.
Finally, printing, managing users and viewing manufacturing in real time will be possible. Additionally, it is easy to print on demand from any place in the business worldwide. This option will be secure and empowers many engineers access through the corporate intranet. It’ll also allow users to share machines and files with any collaborator via an intranet connection. The idea here is that it will be easy to keep and deploy 3D printers with present technology stacks.
3DPrinterOS offers one centralized workflow. They are targeting their joint service with Microsoft at schools and partnerships. “This makes it incredibly easy for IT managers to provide access to 3D printing straight through any web browser.” 3DPrinterOS is working with Microsoft to scale its “factory of the future” 3D printing cloud platform.
