Bambu Lab has announced a partnership with Los Angeles-based design-tech studio Presq to release open-source 3D-printed footwear designs. The collaboration aims to provide the maker community with customizable shoe designs that can be printed at home, unlike existing offerings from major brands that remain proprietary.
The first release, called Fig.(0), includes files for U.S. Men’s Size 10 with scaling coefficients for other sizes. The package contains a pre-sliced .3mf file optimized for Bambu H2D printers using matte TPE 85A as the primary material and PLA for support structures. A CAD file is also included to allow creators to modify the base design with custom attachments and textures.
“By pairing Bambu’s performance with our design system and creative direction, we’re giving creators a practical path from imagination to a real product people can wear,” says Adam Saleh, Presq’s Founder & CEO. “And we’re doing it in a way that keeps cultural value closer to the communities that create it.”
Presq plans to release new design drops monthly, offering additional styles for users to print and customize. The collaboration represents a shift toward open-source alternatives in 3D-printed footwear, which has previously been dominated by closed systems from companies like Nike, Adidas, and Zellerfeld.
