DyeMansion, a post-processing solutions provider for 3D printed polymer parts, has acquired Munich-based ASM. The acquisition adds ASM’s VX1 vapor smoothing system to DyeMansion’s product lineup, targeting entry-level and small-scale production environments. DyeMansion now offers three vapor smoothing solutions: the VX1, Powerfuse S Manual, and Powerfuse S with automatic loading.

ASM was founded in 2021 and launched the VX1 system in 2024. The companies previously established a global sales partnership in October of last year. More than 50 customers worldwide currently use the VX1 system, including service bureau Formrise and health company Goodsleep.
“We are happy to announce that DyeMansion has acquired ASM. The 3D printing industry needs strong players that can sustainably consolidate the market and lead it into the next phase. That’s exactly our mission at DyeMansion – and with the acquisition of ASM, we are sending a clear signal to the market and our partners,” says Felix Ewald, CEO & Co-Founder of DyeMansion.
The VX1 features a plug-and-play design with what the company describes as the largest process chamber in its class. The system processes materials including PA12, PA11, and TPU using a reusable solvent cartridge system. The solvent is described as non-toxic, PFAS-free, and free of CMR or vPvM/PMT substances.
Philipp Ziegler, Co-Founder of ASM and now Global Product & Market Manager VX1 at DyeMansion, stated: “With its strong market position and global sales network, DyeMansion is the ideal home for our technology. Together, we can bring our entry-level vapor smoothing solution to a much broader market and further increase its value for the industry.”
The VX1 system will be displayed at the upcoming Formnext trade show from November 18-21 at DyeMansion’s booth. The company plans to showcase additional product innovations at the event under the theme “More DyeMansion – more efficient.”
