Hugo, the younger brand under Hugo Boss, has partnered with 3D printing company Zellerfeld to create a fully 3D-printed loafer. The shoe is manufactured without stitching, glue, or additional components, using a single recyclable material at Zellerfeld’s automated facility in Hamburg, Germany.
The loafer targets consumers who “values both utility and bold design,” according to the German fashion brand. The shoe features a crepe-inspired sole texture that combines traditional footwear design with digital manufacturing techniques. Customers can choose from five color options: beige, black, red, orange, or blue.
Zellerfeld’s foot scan technology personalizes the fit for each customer by generating individual profiles. This customization approach allows the shoes to be produced on-demand rather than through traditional mass production methods.
The collaboration made its fashion week debut on June 29 during Taiwanese brand Namesake’s show at Paris Fashion Week. The loafer will also appear in Hugo Forward’s upcoming lookbook, though it was not specifically designed in partnership with Namesake.
The Hugo Forward x Zellerfeld loafer will be sold exclusively through Zellerfeld.com on an on-demand basis. Physical promotional installations will be set up at Hugo stores in Amsterdam and Milan to showcase the 3D-printed footwear.
