India and the UAE have intensified their partnership for industry and advanced technology investment. The recent memorandum of understanding (MoU) highlights seven primary sectors: artificial intelligence, supply chain resilience, renewable energy, energy efficiency, health and life sciences, space systems, Industry 4.0 technologies, and standardization and metrology.
Central to the MoU are aims like facilitating industrial investments, promoting technology transfers, and incorporating key technologies across different industries. Both nations anticipate mutual industrial and technological growth benefits.
Piyush Goyal, India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, emphasized the MoU’s focus on institutional frameworks for emerging technology areas. Correspondingly, the UAE’s Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Sultan Al Jaber, expressed the alignment of this agreement with the UAE’s national strategy and their ‘Make it in the Emirates’ initiative.
Strategic cooperation between the two countries is expected to bolster investment in essential sectors and foster technological solutions that meet sustainability and climate neutrality goals. For example, in AI, they’ll work jointly on machine learning and data analytics applications. The partnership will also strengthen supply chain resilience, advance energy storage technologies, and propel research in renewable energy. Collaborative ventures in health sciences, space exploration, and the implementation of fourth industrial revolution technologies, including additive manufacturing, are also underscored.
The growing alliance between India and the UAE marks a crucial intersection of technological prowess and industry expertise. It’s projected that these collaborations will shape the trajectory of advanced manufacturing and tech-driven solutions in both regions, setting a precedent for global partnerships.
