Philips has introduced “Philips Fixables,” a new initiative offering free 3D printable replacement components for select products. The program currently features just one component—a 3mm comb for a Philips shaver—available for download on Printables.com. The company states that more components for additional devices will be added over time.
The program has initially launched in the Czech Republic with support from Prusa Research and LePub. These partnerships aim to help the local maker community adopt the program. Philips Fixables focuses on providing consumers with sustainable repair options instead of requiring complete device replacement.
Consumers can submit requests for specific components through the official Philips Fixables webpage. Philips will notify requesters with download links if their suggested components become available, though no specific turnaround time has been indicated. The company also emphasizes that users must follow recommended print settings to ensure replacement parts function properly.
This initiative joins similar right-to-repair programs from other technology companies. Logitech recently partnered with iFixit to offer repair kits for some of their products. The development represents a modest but notable step toward supporting consumer repair rights in the technology sector.
