SHINING 3D, a global provider of high-precision 3D scanning technologies, has launched two new scanners that aim to redefine entry-level 3D scanning: the EINSTAR Rockit, a compact wireless solution, and the EINSTAR 2, a powerful upgrade to the original EINSTAR. Together, these new models continue SHINING 3D’s mission to make high-quality 3D
EINSTAR Rockit: Pocket-Sized, High-Efficiency Scanning
Designed for mobile scanning, the EINSTAR Rockit brings professional-level performance to a truly portable format. With built-in Wi-Fi and a wireless, pocket-sized design, it eliminates the need for cables or external hubs, allowing users to capture 3D data quickly and flexibly in any setting.
Key features include:
- True Wireless Design: Built-in Wi-Fi enables direct connection to PCs with real-time data transfer — no hubs or dongles required.
- Marker-Free Scanning: The Rockit can scan feature-rich objects without tracking markers, significantly reducing setup time.
- Hybrid Dual Light Source: Combines blue laser and infrared VCSEL technology for scanning diverse surfaces, including objects with deep holes or dark finishes.
- High Speed and Detail: Capable of up to 90 fps when using markers, with a blue laser grid that accelerates large-surface scanning without sacrificing fine detail.
- 5MP Color Camera: Captures vivid, realistic textures for applications in restoration, digital archiving, AR/VR, and design.
With these features, the Rockit is positioned as an ideal tool for high-efficiency reverse engineering and on-site digitization — from large automotive parts to outdoor sculptures.
EINSTAR 2: Improved Hardware and Laser HD Scanning
Building on the success of the original EINSTAR, the EINSTAR 2 introduces key upgrades in both design and functionality. Weighing just 420g, it supports wireless scanning with a built-in swappable battery that delivers up to three hours of continuous use.
New scanning features include:
- 17 Parallel Blue Laser Lines: A major step up from the previous 7-line configuration, this system improves detail while speeding up scanning over large surfaces.
- Infrared VCSEL Technology: Allows clean point cloud generation even under harsh lighting conditions, including direct sunlight. It also improves tracking for scanning objects like limbs or dark surfaces.
- Laser HD Mode: Enables studio-quality scans without the need for prep sprays, cables, or external power sources.
From full-body scans in under a minute to intricate detail capture for digital design and VR, EINSTAR 2 balances portability with professional-grade results.
Expanding the EINSTAR Family
The launch of EINSTAR Rockit and EINSTAR 2 broadens the EINSTAR lineup, which also includes the original EINSTAR and the VEGA model. This expansion reflects SHINING 3D’s effort to address the full range of scanning needs — from mobility and ease of use to high-detail metrology.
Both devices stay true to the brand’s core principles: beginner-friendly design, strong value, and reliable performance. Whether capturing mechanical parts or organic forms, EINSTAR scanners aim to deliver consistent results without the high entry barrier of traditional professional tools.
