SHINING 3D Unveils EinScan Rigil with Tri-Mode Scanning for Pro-sumer Flexibility

July 3, 2025

SHINING 3D has launched its newest flagship 3D scanner, the EinScan Rigil — touted as the world’s first 3D scanner featuring Tri-Mode operation and built-in computing. Designed for advanced users in automotive, medical, industrial, and prototyping sectors, the Rigil offers an integrated wireless workflow with three light sources and three connectivity modes, redefining flexibility in metrology-grade 3D scanning.

SHINING 3D Unveils EinScan Rigil with Tri-Mode Scanning for Pro-Level Flexibility

Tri-Mode Scanning for Professional Versatility

The EinScan Rigil introduces a hybrid light system that includes 19+19 crossed blue laser lines for high-speed scanning, seven parallel blue laser lines for capturing fine detail, and VCSEL infrared for marker-free scanning. These modes can be switched during the scanning process, allowing users to merge datasets and optimize for both speed and precision in a single workflow.

The scanner is engineered to handle a wide range of object sizes and surface types, including dark and reflective materials. SHINING 3D reports volumetric accuracy up to 0.04 mm + 0.06 mm/m and geometric resolution up to 0.05 mm, making the device suitable for tasks requiring high fidelity and repeatability.

Three Operating Modes Maximize Workflow Efficiency

EinScan Rigil features three distinct operating configurations:

  • Standalone Mode: Users can scan and process data directly on the device without connecting to a PC, improving portability in field conditions.
  • Wireless PC Mode: Via built-in Wi-Fi 6, the scanner streams data to a computer for enhanced computing performance.
  • Wired PC Mode: A cabled connection provides stable performance in complex network environments and enables maximum data throughput.

Marker-Free Scanning with Hybrid Tracking

Rigil’s marker-free blue laser scanning mode is enabled by a hybrid tracking system that combines laser and infrared inputs. This approach eliminates the need for physical markers while maintaining a level of accuracy superior to traditional marker-free IR scans and faster than conventional marker-based laser systems.
In addition, both light systems are optimized for outdoor use. SHINING 3D highlights that the device performs reliably under direct sunlight, making it suitable for on-site applications.

Enhanced Hardware and Texture Capture

Equipped with a 5MP full-color camera, Rigil delivers detailed texture mapping for design and inspection workflows. Internally, it’s powered by an 8-core 2.4GHz CPU, 32GB DDR5 RAM, and a 1TB SSD. The integrated 6.4-inch 2K AMOLED touchscreen enables on-device control, while dual 6000mAh batteries extend scanning sessions without interruption.

Software for End-to-End Scanning Workflows

Rigil pairs with the EXScan Rigil PC software, designed to handle complete workflows from scanning to editing and exporting. The software supports model repair, closed-surface generation, and mesh optimization, ensuring high-quality outputs ready for downstream CAD or inspection tools.

Tailored for Demanding Applications

Targeted especially at the automotive aftermarket and other prosumer industries, the EinScan Rigil combines fast capture speeds with precision-focused detail and ease of use. It enables professionals to produce clean, textured 3D models across complex environments without sacrificing mobility or accuracy.

Availability and Launch Offer

The EinScan Rigil is now available for $/€4999 and can be purchased directly through SHINING 3D’s official channel at www.einstar.com. As part of a limited-time launch promotion running from June 25 to July 25, customers who pre-order during this period will receive a free Accessories Pro Kit valued at $399. This exclusive offer provides added value for early adopters looking to enhance their 3D scanning setup with advanced tools and increased flexibility.
