Titomic Limited, an Australian company specializing in cold spray additive manufacturing, has received €800,000 in funding from the Netherlands’ 3D Print Kompas program. The funding will support the company’s Netherlands division over approximately 24 months to advance its cold spray technology development.
The 3D Print Kompas program is a Dutch government initiative managed by the Ministry of Economic Affairs through regional innovation bodies. The program aims to support 3D production technologies that contribute to economic growth and industrial competitiveness in the Netherlands.
Titomic’s cold spray process, called Titomic Kinetic Fusion, creates metal parts without melting materials, which the company says eliminates thermal distortion and residual stresses common in traditional additive manufacturing. The technology targets applications in aerospace, defense, energy, and infrastructure sectors.
The funding will support several development areas including research into materials and coatings for printed circuit boards, automated repair systems using augmented reality for aerospace and maritime components, and a portable “backpack” cold spray solution. The company also plans to collaborate with local universities and industry partners to develop skilled workers in the cold spray manufacturing field.
“This funding validates the strategic importance of our advanced manufacturing capabilities within Europe,” said Klaas Rozema, President of Titomic Europe. “It allows us to expand our operations, enhance our material science research, and strengthen collaborations with industrial and academic partners throughout the Netherlands and the broader EU.”
The investment represents part of Titomic’s broader strategy to expand its operations internationally and establish manufacturing capabilities in different regions.
