Xolo has announced a collaboration with Swarovski to explore the 3D printing of crystal glass, aiming to push the boundaries of crystal manufacturing. The Berlin-based company, working alongside Professor Paolo Colombo’s group from the University of Padova, is leveraging its proprietary volumetric additive manufacturing technology, Xolography, to set new standards in precision and speed for customized crystal production.
Supported by HZG Group, the venture capital business of Concept Laser co-founders Frank and Kerstin Herzog, Xolo introduced the Xube² 3D Volumetric Printing system in September. This technology projects light with two wavelengths into resin within sealed cuvettes, rapidly creating complex structures. Xolography is particularly suited for printing biocompatible materials, hydrogels, and technical objects like optical elements. For this project, the technology is being utilized to create intricate glass components with exceptional clarity and detail.
Innovative Partnership with Swarovski
