Creality Unveils K1C for Carbon Fiber-Filled Filaments

January 25, 2024

Creality, renowned for its popular K1 series, is set to redefine 3D printing with the upcoming release of the K1C. Building on the success of its predecessors, the K1C offers the high speed and quality as expected from the K1 range, but with the additional ability to print carbon fiber composite filaments right out the box.

At the heart of K1C’s prowess is its optimized printhead for carbon fiber-filled filament printing. The all-metal extruder kit guarantees 1000 hours of clog-free extrusion, ensuring a seamless printing experience. The addition of a bolster spring and a ball plunger provides a secure grip on the filament, preventing any slack.

The “Unicorn” nozzle, equipped with heat break technology, efficiently handles heat creep and facilitates easy one-handed swapping. This feature allows the K1C to tackle carbon fiber-filled filaments, a crucial capability for industrial applications requiring robust mechanical strength and dimensional stability.

Taking innovation further, the K1C introduces an advanced cooling system. The dynamically balanced hotend and part cooling fans reduce wobbling, minimizing issues like ringing or ghosting, which often plague other 3D printers.

Seamless Out-of-the-Box Experience

The K1C simplifies the user experience with its pre-assembled design, offering a hassle-free plug-and-play setup. The machine’s auto-calibration eliminates the need for frustrating paper tests, ensuring a smooth start to every printing session. Adding a touch of artificial intelligence, K1C features an AI camera for real-time monitoring, error alerts, and time-lapse filming, enhancing user convenience.

For those seeking a quiet workspace, K1C offers a silent mode with noise levels below 45dB—comparable to turning pages in a book. The built-in active carbon filter purifies emissions from molten filaments, allowing users to print day and night without concerns. Additionally, K1C’s unique ability to exclude individual failed prints in batch-printing ensures uninterrupted production.

Robust Ecosystem with Open-Source Flexibility

K1C boasts a comprehensive hardware and software ecosystem, with open-source Creality OS based on Klipper. This flexibility enables advanced functions like linear advance and customization. Creality Print slicer, featuring smart cooling and optimal retraction, empowers users to manage print farms efficiently over LAN. The Creality Cloud further enhances the experience, offering a vast repository of free 3D models and seamless cloud printing.

Availability

The K1C 3D printer is available for preorder starting January 25, 2024, through Creality Store, Amazon, and authorized distributors. Priced at USD 559/GBP 539/EUR 599 on Creality Store, with a 5% discount across all channels, the K1C promises to be a game-changer in the 3D printing arena, particularly for those wanting to add a little carbon fiber to their projects.
