Materials and design solutions developer Arkema are looking to expand by opening a new resins technology center. The company will set up the new center at their Sartomer Exton, PA facility, where its partners will carry out further research and development work at the advanced center to develop cutting-edge 3D printing resins.
Arkema specializes in lightweight materials, biosourced materials, new energies, water management and solutions for electronics and home insulation. Now, the company is expanding its reach with the new resins technology center, where they will conduct research into UV tech. The center will provide access to the latest advances in SLA, DLP and Multi-jet Printing devices and materials.
3D printing will further expand in to mass manufacturing through innovative advanced material technologies and partnerships with market leaders. Guillaume de Crevoisier, Global business director 3D printing at Arkema
Sartomer is already a prolific name within the design community, hosting resin development under the N3xtDimension brand, a subdivision of Arkema. Sumeet Jain, Global director 3D printing at Sartomer, said, “Sartomer is a historic partner for 3D printing pioneers. We’re launching the 3D Printing Center of Excellence to deepen our support of the visionaries working to develop innovative 3D printed materials.”
Resins Development
The center will also host chemists and application engineers who can assist clients by developing custom resins. They will make use of Arkema’s worldwide R&D network, which is expanding even now with the Center of Excellence. As a result, the company will continue to be a key player in advanced materials and tailoring resins.
The Arkema Group reports annual sales of 8.3 billion euros. Buoyed by the collective energy of its 19,800 employees, Arkema also operates in close to 55 countries. While the company provides many different materials, it is showing an increased interest in 3D printables. The center will be working with UV resins, so its new partners will probably be dental, sports and electronics companies.
