The Tawazun Council has unveiled the first Emirati 3D printing center of excellence, named “Sindan”, in collaboration with local firms.
Tawazun Council is an independent government entity that works closely with the Ministry of Defense and security agencies in the UAE, and aims to influence additive manufacturing and 3D printing strategies in the defense, aerospace, and other sectors with Sindan.
The center will also function as a link between industry and academia, providing 3D printing certification, studying and developing standards and validation, and expanding the UAE’s presence in the global supply chain. Additionally, it will research and develop critical components to aid and hasten the expansion of the additive manufacturing industry in the country.
“The launch of the first Emirati Centre of Excellence for 3D Printing is a major milestone and a testament to the UAE’s commitment to innovation and technological advancement,” said Shareef Hashim Al Hashmi, CEO of Tawazun Council.
“We are confident that this center will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the additive manufacturing industry in the UAE and beyond.”
The launch of the first Emirati 3D printing center of excellence is a significant achievement and an indication of the UAE’s dedication to technological advancement and innovation. Furthermore, the center plans to improve the capabilities of Emiratis by providing them with high-quality, long-term employment opportunities.
