SLS system manufacturer Aerosint has just finished up its second round of investment funding with €850K. Much like the first round, Meusinvest Group and Innovation Fund also put forward their backing, once again. Although, this time around, co-founder of LayerWise, Peter Mercelis joined in financing for multi-material applications. The company hopes to put further investment into extend their patent portfolio, fund collaborations and advance their technologies. Mercelis will be joining Aerosint’s board of directors, bringing in his own knowledge and expertise to the fold.
Edouard Moens, Co-founder and CEO Aerosint said, “Peter brings more than 15 years of experience in 3D printing to the project. We are convinced that his unique expertise and network in 3D printing will open up new doors for the Aerosint technology. Peter has a very strong reputation in the 3D printing industry and we are thrilled to have the chance to work with him.”
Aerosint’s Growth
Aerosint, contrary to what one might think, is not a massive operation. The company is about 6 people in total and right now they will be looking to double that over the next 1-2 years. They initially made their name by adding multi-material capabilities to selective laser technology. Impressed by the team and what had achieved in such small numbers over the span of only 2 years, Mercelis joined in. Despite their size, Mercelis found their teamwork and focus endearing, and their tech robust.
The CEO of Meusinvest also chimed in, saying that he sees massive potential in the industry. In fact, many firms are moving towards investments in SLS and laser based applications. With a whole lot of new funding, perhaps Aerosint might be looking to expand even further.
