BEAVERLAB’s Davcarve L1 Modular Laser Engraver Launches on Kickstarter

October 11, 2023

Gadget company BEAVERLAB has unveiled its new Kickstarter campaign for the pioneering Davcarve L1, the world’s first multi-module laser engraver & DIY center. Launching on October 10th, early supporters will benefit from a massive 55% discount.

Read on to learn more about the Davcarve L1 and its array of CNC-powered modules.

6-in-1 Versatility

The Davcarve L1 stands out with its six adaptable modules, including three laser modules, a CNC module, a fine-point blade cutting module, and a unique hand-drawn artwork module. Let’s take a look at the 6 modules in detail.

3x Laser Modules

Davcarve L1 comes with three laser modules tailored for precision across a diverse range of materials. Its 540 nm blue laser modules, available in 10W and 20W, suit materials such as wood, leather, and acrylic. The 20W unit is capable of cutting through 17mm solid wood, or 10mm acrylic sheets in a single pass! The third laser mobile is a 2W infrared laser module that is perfect for engraving metals like gold, silver, stainless steel and even titanium.

CNC Router Capability

Its CNC router module, featuring a 10,000rpm ER11 spindle and 3.175mm spring collet, allows the Davcarve L1 to work seamlessly on a range of materials, from robust blocks to delicate PCBs.

Precision Blade Cutting

For more delicate materials unsuited for the laser or CNC modules, makers can take advantage of the fine point blade module. With this module, even novices can craft stunning pop-up cards, vinyl decals, and detailed fabric patterns. Equipped with an auxiliary pressure spring and an extendable blade, it ensures accurate cuts up to 14mm deep, allowing flawless cutting on a majority of pliable materials.

Drawing Module

Do you dream of creating hand-drawn art but lack skills? The drawing module supports off-the-shelf pens (5-20mm diameter, 80-190mm length) including gel, marker, and ballpoint. Set your design in the software, and it auto-creates sketches, illustrations, and lettering as you like!

Other Features

In addition to the multiple toolhead modules, there are a whole host of other great features as well, ranging from the large work area to the user-friendly software.

Here are those extra features that make up the Davcarve L1:

User-Friendly Platform and a Large Workspace

The Davcarve L1 simplifies both assembly and part replacement, boasting a dovetail slot design in all work modules for rapid installation and removal of the 6 different toolheads. The intuitive joystick and roller give you complete control over the X/Y and Z-axis, and with the intuitive touch buttons next to the HD IPS screen, you can easily select the files you want to engrave or cut without any hassle.

In terms of workspace, the Davcarve L1 offers a generous 400x500mm working area, and optional risers can extend the machine’s working height to an impressive 110mm.

Performance and Safety

Driven by a robust 57mm high-torque motor, the Davcarve L1 guarantees precise engravings with a repeat accuracy of 0.01mm. But what good is accuracy without safety? Naturally, safety remains paramount with Davcarve L1 thanks to features like a gyroscope sensor and flame detector, coupled with certifications from RoHS, CE, FCC, and FDA.

Curved Engraving Mastered

The 4-in-1 rotary extension allows 360° engraving on objects like rings, balls, cylinders and more thanks to its three adjustable jaw attachments and rotary rollers. This versatile tool has got you covered for all your curved surface engraving needs.

Intuitive Software

BEAVERLAB’s LaserCreate app offers beginner-friendly instructions, while its PC counterpart supports multiple graphic formats including DXF, SVG, JPG, PNG, BMP, and NC. Both app and PC variants also come with free lifetime updates.

Availability

As you can see, the Davcarve L1 truly offers a lot of value to any makers’ toolset.

So how can you avail of such a device? Well, the good news is that BEAVERLAB has now launched their Kickstarter campaign (at this link) and if you are an early bird, you can get 50% off their all-in-one cutter, router and engraver. There are different packages available according to laser power requirements.

If you’d like to take a look at what else BEAVERLAB has to offer, you can also visit their main website to see what they are all about.
