Puma’s latest Mostro shoe collaboration with French designer Louis-Gabriel Nouchi is set to launch today, January 23, 2024. The new design transforms the classic Mostro into a backless slip-on mule, available in black and bone white.
The updated version features molded EVA foam construction while retaining the original Mostro’s anatomical sole and distinctive spike design. Nouchi explained his approach, stating “I synthesized the essence of the iconic Mostro shoes into a radical mule design using a single material, transforming it into both a design object and a comfortable sneaker.”
This release follows several recent Mostro collaborations, including a notable partnership with A$AP Rocky that utilized Carbon Digital Light Synthesis 3D printing technology. The A$AP Rocky collaboration earned Puma the Collaboration of the Year award at the 2024 FNAAs in December.
The Mostro, whose name comes from the Italian word for “monster,” has been part of Puma’s lineup for over 25 years. The original design drew inspiration from vintage track and surfing footwear, establishing its distinctive silhouette in the sneaker market.
The Puma x LGN Mostro Mule will be priced at $158 and will initially launch through LGN’s website on January 23, followed by a wider release at selected retailers on January 25.
