Renault has revealed the interior design of its upcoming Twingo E-Tech electric prototype at the Brussels Motor Show. The vehicle, set to launch in 2026, aims to enter the market at a price point below €20,000. The new model draws inspiration from the original Twingo while incorporating modern electric vehicle technology.
The prototype’s interior features a 7-inch digital instrument panel and a 10.1-inch central multimedia screen integrated into a suspended cylindrical dashboard. Storage solutions include compartments under the dashboard and between front seats, along with a flat surface spanning the cabin’s width. The design preserves the original Twingo’s emphasis on space efficiency and functionality.
Notable interior materials include tinted cork flooring and upholstery patterns that complement the exterior color scheme. The cabin includes practical elements such as a 50/50 split folding rear bench seat and five doors for easy access. A rounded glass roof provides natural lighting throughout the interior space.
Practical features include magnetic areas on front headrests for mounting phones, elastic straps for storage, and adjustable seatbacks. The vehicle is built on the AmpR small platform and has been developed by Ampere over a two-year period. It will join Renault’s expanding electric vehicle lineup alongside models like the Renault 5, Renault 4, Megane, and Scenic.
Several design updates have been implemented since the prototype’s initial showing at the Paris Motor Show in 2024. These modifications include a concealed air intake in the lower front end, reduced rear wheel arch extensions, and redesigned black bumpers with 3D-printed honeycomb patterns. Additional changes feature a new quarterlight near the rearview mirror and modified rear light shapes.
