ugee has opened ugee maker, a moderated library of 3D models for parents, children, and people printing at home for the first time. The company says its own files are tested before they go up, and that they are supplied as STLs for ordinary desktop printers, not only for ugee’s Funbox.
On a public model site, a beginner has to sort files that print from files that fail, and a parent has no say in what a child opens. ugee maker is the company’s answer: a moderated catalog of its own tuned models, which it calls Seed Builds, plus uploads from members and designs commissioned from artists. Official files ship as STLs. A parent can browse the site, send a model to the ugee ufun app, and print it on a Funbox, or download the same file for another machine. ugee says new official models will go up every week.

The site also tries to skip CAD. In CreateLab, a child uploads a drawing and a tool called AI Magic, built with the generative-model service Meshy, turns that picture into a file ready to print.
ugee already sells drawing tablets and home 3D printers in more than 100 countries. The Funbox is its household machine, and ufun is the app those owners use to run it. Signing up during the launch enters a $1,000 giveaway.
