Modix Releases Three New XL 3D Printers

July 15, 2020

As a leader in the large-format 3D printing market, Modix is consistently keeping current with the release of new printers that are bigger and better than ever. The Israeli company is doubling its product portfolio by debuting three new printers: BIG-Meter (1000 x 1000 x 1000 mm), BIG-180X (1800 x 600 x 600 mm), and BIG-40 (400 x 400 x 800 mm).

Modix XL 3D printers are engineered to be workhorses for demanding industries that include automotive manufacturers, aerospace development, and prosthetic fabrication. It’s not good enough for parts to be big, they also have to be functional. To guarantee that prints come out reliably, Modix machines include premium components and features:

  • – Dual E3D Volcano hotends and E3D Aero extruders
  • – DUET3D Controller
  • – HIWIN motion rails
  • – IGUS shielded wiring
  • – Gates belts
  • – Fully enclosed build volume
  • – Alcoa Mic6 milled cast aluminum build plate
  • – WiFi and web control
  • – 7” touchscreen
  • – Power-loss resume
  • – Filament runout detection
  • – 100 point auto levelling

We are proud to continuously develop our line of products and offer an array of solutions to meet our many worldwide customer needs, customers who rely on 3D printing as part of their day-to-day business. Despite the Covid-19 crisis, Modix never stopped its services and R&D for a minute and the result is in front of you… These newly introduced products are only yet another milestone in our road-map to provide an end to end solution within the 3D printing market. Shachar Gafni, Modix CEO

High quality parts ensure that prints are accurate and repeatable, and those advanced features translate to real cost savings when prints that would otherwise be failures are redeemed, like when a power breaker flips during a 22-hour print. Normally, the print would have to be restarted after the requisite number of profanities are muttered or screamed (dealer’s choice). Modix printers remember where they stopped and can be resumed after such a power interruption, saving material, time, and potentially your voice. Several upgrades are available as well, such as E3D high-flow hotends, an air filter, and a high-temp hotend.

All of their printers are shipped as self-assembly kits, which is what allows them to offer the most affordable XL 3D printers on the market. The BIG-Meter starts at $10,500, the BIG-180X at $12,000, and the BIG-40 at $4,500. At those prices, even the smallest firms can afford to adopt XL AM.
