LEMKI Robotix in collaboration with Iscale3D, has introduced an innovation in large-scale 3D printing: DISCOVER 3D, the world’s first mobile home created using eco-friendly 3D printing technology. Crafted from a composite material comprising recycled polypropylene (equivalent to 7,400 plastic bottles) and fiberglass, this mobile home exemplifies sustainable and cost-effective construction.
By leveraging Fused Granulate Fabrication (FGF) technology, the team utilized custom equipment based on a KUKA robotic system, combined with proprietary software, to produce large-scale structures with unmatched precision and strength. With a printable area of 3200 mm x 3200 mm x 8000 mm, their system enables the creation of sizable objects like DISCOVER 3D while maintaining high-quality performance.
Sustainability Meets Functionality
The DISCOVER 3D mobile home is a standout example of sustainable engineering. Composed of 80% recyclable materials, it offers an eco-conscious alternative to traditional mobile housing. By incorporating composite materials, the production process not only minimizes waste but also reduces manufacturing time and costs, making these homes more affordable for a broader audience.
Designed for mass production, DISCOVER 3D represents a sustainable business model, merging innovation with accessibility.
Smart Living, Anywhere
DISCOVER 3D goes beyond being a prototype; it’s a fully functional smart home designed for modern living. Key features include:
- • Energy Autonomy: Equipped with autonomous batteries and compatibility with solar panels, the home ensures off-grid living capabilities.
- • Smart Sensors: Integrated systems monitor and control critical parameters such as temperature, water levels, and battery charge, offering convenience and adaptability for various environments.
- • Custom Climate Adaptability: Engineered for use in diverse climate zones, the home’s 3D-printed structure provides excellent thermal insulation and durability.
Designed to accommodate a family of three, DISCOVER 3D combines functionality and comfort, making it ideal for outdoor enthusiasts and eco-conscious consumers.
The Future of 3D-Printed Housing
LEMKI Robotix envisions a broader application for its 3D printing technology, focusing on expanding access to affordable and sustainable motorhomes. By streamlining production and continuing to refine their eco-friendly materials, the company aims to revolutionize mobile living while promoting a harmonious relationship with nature.
With plans for mass production underway, DISCOVER 3D could soon become a leading option for sustainable housing solutions, paving the way for innovation in the motorhome industry.
