UAE-based ceramic company RAK Ceramics (headquartered in the Ras al-Khaimah emirate) has unveiled a revolutionary 3D printed washbasin design at ISH 2023 in Frankfurt.
Unlike traditional casting methods typically used for making ceramic basins, 3D printing permits greater design freedom and allows ceramics designers to achieve unique, limited-edition collections with complex geometries not possible with traditional manufacturing means.
You can see one such design being printed with a delta-type ceramic printer in the video below.
Using ceramic printing means that there’s no compromise on creative vision, enabling the delivery of exact interior-architectural experiences the architect or planner is looking for. Additionally, because 3D printing production is offered on-demand, it is scalable, and has a shorter turnaround time than standard production processes, thanks to the alleviation of tooling design and production needed for the casting process.
RAK Ceramics are currently showing off their 3D printed washbasins at ISH 2023 in Frankfurt from 13 to 17 March, in Hall 3.1, Stand D21.
